I typically use this blog to provide information that’s not about VPI, but today I’d like to share an exciting company announcement. I have news about Veterinary Pet Insurance that will be discussed a great deal in the veterinary community. I want to share it with you here, and answer some of the questions I’ve already been asked.
Over the next few months, VPI will be transitioning to a new name: Nationwide. As you may know, Veterinary Pet Insurance is a member of the Nationwide family of companies, and Nationwide has been our very quiet, steadfast financial partner and underwriter since our very beginning in 1982.
Nationwide is unifying all of its businesses to become one company, one culture and one brand — simply “Nationwide.” VPI’s mission, strategy and what we do each and every day to help people protect their pets: This will not change. Our founding vision to support the veterinary profession is important to Nationwide, too, as you’ll see in the months and years to come.
While this is a significant change for those of us at VPI, I promise you that in practical terms it will be little felt in the veterinary community we serve, except in ways that will increase the benefits we offer you. For VPI customers and partners, this is a signal of better things to come, with innovative new products and services along with our unwavering commitment to pets, and to the veterinarians who care for them.
Now as always, we are the pet insurance company with people who know well the joy of kissing a puppy or kitten at the first veterinary appointment, as well as the sorrow and sense of commitment that comes from easing the suffering of a pet at the end of a well-loved life. More than 100 of the associates who work for VPI are veterinarians or veterinary technicians, and we are proud of our knowledge, our professionalism and our part in the community we serve. That will not change, either.
Under the Nationwide banner, we will continue to be a company that understands what veterinarians and veterinary practices need. We are proud of our passion for pets, and we are as proud to serve our customers as you are to keep their pets healthy.
Nationwide is also launching a new brand and logo this week. The new logo symbolizes the strength, stability and security of more than 34,000 associates who stand behind our promise that Nationwide is on your side – as VPI always has been.
